DIY Tutorial - How I Clean My Make-up Brushes!

As I was cleaning my make-up brushes today I had an idea that this would make a great blog post, as when I first got my set of brushes I had no idea on how to clean them, so I thought that this post may help some of you lovely people out there.

I try and clean my brushes at least once a week,as leaving your brushes dirty can lead to more acne on your face and no body wants that!

The picture below shows my make-up brush collection. On the left hand side of this picture there is the Real Techniques Powder Brush 1401 and the Real Techniques Blush Brush 1407 and then there is the Real Techniques Core Collection 1403, I decided to add the powder brush and the blush brush to the stand so it's easier to see all of my brushes. I also own the Real Techniques Starter Set 1406 which is on the right hand side of this picture.

When I clean my brushes I tend to use the Johnson's baby shampoo as I feel cleans the brushes well and it makes the brushes feel soft and smelling good! I then run a small bowl of lukewarm water, as personally I don't like to leave the tap running. However, I do change the water a few times depending on how dirty it is.

I then take a brush and my baby shampoo, I then squeeze some of the shampoo onto the brush or my hand, whatever I feel like and then rub the brush into the palm of my hand and then shake the brush in the water to get all the shampoo out.

Once I've done the same thing to all of my brushes the then leave them on a towel to air dry!

February Favourites!

Hello my lovelies! How are you all?
I know I'm a little early with this blog post but I just couldn't wait to share with you all my February favourites, so here they are!

In the picture below is my beloved Baby Lips and Eos lip balm. You can see my review here and my review on my Eos lip balm here. Both balms make my lips feel so soft and they also make my lips stay so hydrated.

The Vosene de-tangling spray and Trevor Sorbie heat defence blow dry spray are amazing products! I have thoroughly loved using these products this month.

Another one of my favourites is my tangle teezer. This is such an amazing brush! I love how you can get these brushes in many different styles and colours. I wouldn't buy them from Boots though because they are more expensive than buying them on ebay.

I have been testing out this product below for around two months now and I think I've used it enough to say it's one of my favourite now. This is the Avon Sleep Therapy. To use this product all you do is spray a few sprays onto you pillow and a few more into the room.I genuinely believe that this product is helping me sleep. It smells amazing.

What products have you loved using this month?

It's all about Baby Skin!

Hello my lovelies! How are you all?
I recently did a blog post called It's all about Baby Lips here. So, now I thought I would do one about the Baby Skin by Maybelline.
I purchased this product around one month ago from Boots and it cost £7.00 here.

This product claims to leave a matte finish and leave the skin fresh, soft and protected. It also says that it will vanish pores and make the skin feel light.
It says you can apply the primer alone or wear it under make-up.It recommends that you use your fingers to apply evenly to the face and wait till it sets before putting on make-up.This product also states that it is suitable for all skin types and tones.
Personally, I apply the primer with my fingers before putting on my make-up.I think that this product does reduce the size of my pores but I wouldn't say that it vanishes them as it claims to do.It does leave my skin feeling soft and light, it also works great with my make-up.The only criticism I have is that I think there is not enough product for the money, 22ml is quite a small amount to me. However, I do love the packaging, it's bright and cute.

To be honest I really like this product and I will be repurchasing this item again as I love how it feels on my skin.

Have you tried Baby Skin? What are your thoughts on it?

What's in my make-up bag!

Hello my lovelies! How are you all?

This blog post as you can guess from the title, is about what is in my make-up bag.

The make-up bag I use is one from Ted Baker. I'm lucky enough to live near an outlet and I managed to purchase the bag for only £14! When originally it should have been £22. I just absolutely love the floral patten and the colours on the bag.

Here is a picture of everything I carry around in my make-up bag!
As it is a fairly large bag I tend to carry around way more than I actually need.

The picture below shows all the base products I carry with me. There are two foundations and two primers in this picture, see what I mean about carrying too much, haha!
I will list the products from left to right.
1) L'Oreal Paris Studio Secrets Smoothing Resurfacing Primer £14.29 The link for this product is here.
2) MUA Under Eye Radiant Concealer £3.00 The link for this product is here.
3) Maybelline's Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser Lightweight Primer £7.99 The link for the Baby Skin is here.

5) Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder £3.99 in the colour 003 Peach Glow. The link for this is here.
6) Maybelline's Dream Matte Mouse £7.69 and the link for this product is here.

The next picture below shows all the eye based products I carry around with me, once again I will list them going from left to right.
1) Maybelline's Falsies Mascara Very Black £7.99 and the link is here.
2) Maybelline's Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner £7.99 and the link is here.
3) Soap and Glory's Thick and Fast? Super Volume Mascara Superjet Black £10.00 and the link for that is here.
4) Collection 2000 Extreme 24hr felt tip liner £2.99 and the link for that this product is here.

6) Miss Sporty Eye Pencil £1.99 and the link is here.
7) Rimmel's Professional Eye Brow Pencil £2.99 and the link is here.

Next is the high lighter I like to use. It is MACs Pearlmatter in Pink Butter-Cream. Unfortunately they do not have this on their website so I cannot post a link. I am lucky enough to live near a small MAC outlet and I purchased this for around £15 pounds and I know at full price it is in the £20's.

In the next picture below there are my eye shadows.
1) Barry M Eye shadow in cream. £4.49. I was lucky to find this in the Boots sale in January and I only paid £1.00. The link for this product is here.
2) MAC Duo Mineralize Eye Shadow in Sage and Wisdom. This product is not discontinued. Again, I found this in my local outlet and I paid £11.00
3) Barry M Eye Shadow in the colour Brown. £4.49. I found this too in the January sale and I only paid £1.00 for this item. The link for this product is here.

So that's what's in my make-up bag!
